There are 2 systems on ICC where games by top players are stored.
1. The SEARCH database contains games played by the top players on the ICC. It has over SEVEN MILLION games and is growing daily! We currently add any game in which one of the players is an IM, GM or WGM. Bullet games are not added. We also add any game in which both players are rated 2300 or higher and the time control is longer than 3 0.
Example: To list games in which Dlugy was a participant and the ECO code was A56, type this in the Main Tab of your Console:
search Dlugy eco=A56
You will then see: Your search found 204 games: [124 15 65 = (white win, draw, black win)] search results:
0 1646735484 ? 2014.03.21 A56 Dlugy(2453)-firetiger(2298) 3 0 1 1641655583 ? 2014.01.30 A56 Dlugy(2527)-UzbekTiger(2314) 3 0 |
To view a game, use the temporary number which is given at the beginning of each line. So, in this example, the 0 or the 1. For the game between Dlugy and UzbekTiger, you would type:
examine 1
Please read "help search" for more information.
2. ICC has LIBRARIES which contain games of major chess events, from the past and current, from all over the world. Read "help Cool-Libs" for a list of libraries.
You can search these libraries with LibraryBot. Read "help LibraryBot" for all the commands.
Example: Type on the command bar under the Main Tab of your Channels Console: 'tell LibraryBot
tell LibraryBot tal fischer year=1959
LibraryBot will now give you a list of games played between Tal and Fischer in the year 1959. LibaryBot will also give you examine links for these games.
The tells from LibraryBot can show in the Main Tab but can also go to a Personal Chat console. If you heard a whistle but can not find the chat then click on the round blue button, with a ? mark in it, above in your toolbar. It has a number next to it for the amount of unread chat you missed.
